Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. Reiki does no harm. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Q: What can Reiki help me with?
TC: Reiki can help with mental and emotional issues, like stress and anxiety; physical discomfort such as back pain and headaches, as well as side effects from treatments of chemotherapy and radiation.  All the while, Reiki will help restore your "sense of balance."

Q: What can I expect from my first Reiki session?
TC: Afterwards you will feel very relaxed with a sense of peacefulness.

Q: What is happening to me during my Reiki session?
TC: Basically, I will help facilitate balance to the energy of your body.{SEE VIDEO BELOW} This "balance" creates a relaxed, peaceful and grounded state of being.

Q: What do I have to do during my session?
TC: Nothing.  You'll be laying down, eyes closed.  It's recommended that you remain quiet.
 
Q: Would Reiki interfere with any other treatments or services?
TC: No. There are no contraindications with Reiki and any other treatment.

Q: How often should I receive Reiki?
TC: As often as you like.  Most people will "know" when they need another session.

Q: What kind of training does a Reiki practitioner receive to become certified?

TC: Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught.  It is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement process. This process opens the crown, heart and palm chakras and creates a special link between the student and the Reiki source. 

The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience.  The attunement energies are channeled into the student through the Reiki Master.  The process is guided by the Rei or God-consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student.
